Suggested reading paths

Modelers

  1. Install and activate the client, then review the interface layout.
  2. Create a model and learn model operations, entity and table operations, and attribute and field operations.
  3. Apply data standards, naming rules, and model checks.
  4. Save the model locally or to the repository, then use branches and version history for collaboration.

Repository and platform administrators

  1. Use Data models to understand the repository and model lifecycle.
  2. Configure directories, permissions, approvals, and workflows.
  3. Maintain labels, custom properties, check rules, drivers, organizations, users, and roles.

Architecture and intelligent assistance

  1. Start with Archy to manage architecture assets and application systems.
  2. Start with Dora to configure the model and verify conversational modeling.

Product boundaries

DDM Client owns design-time modeling. DDM Server owns centralized storage, permissions, approvals, and online access. Archy manages architecture assets that connect business and application views to models. Dora assists with modeling and analysis; every generated change still requires a review in the model tree, canvas, and change history.
